Normally I'm too slow when trying to take close-ups of birds. By the time I'm ready they're long gone! Luckily this robin in the gardens of Hampton Court Palace didn't mind waiting for me.
This is the dream that so many pass by without note so often, unfortunately. Your shot made my eyes flame with the awe. Thank you for the unforgettable photography.
Oh he's so sweet. We are still buried in snow and I have been ill (sorry for my absence). This just makes my heart ache for spring. I so do miss the birds!
Hi John, responding to your comment on my blog. Jen from Homegrown gave me the award, I'm not sure who gave it to her. Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you're backtracking the award?
Pictures of birds give us such a feeling of accomplishment. You did a great job with this one. Our American robins are actually named after your European robins, because of their similar red breast.

This is a nice shot. What shutter speed did you use?
Orangespaash, I just used the automatic settings, aperture 5.9, shutter 1/210.
This is an amazing capture. I am never able to get good bird shots and I try so often.

That's beautiful--looks like a painting! Great colours too.
I agree that it looks like a painting. Very nice close-up. I have a blog award for you if you want to check it out on my blog.

Mom To The Power of Three, thanks for the award I've just posted my nominations :-)
Mari-Ann, I'm just curious who started the award so I've been following the links back from blog to blog!
John, your robin is sure different from our robins..I think mine is the red chest robin, very commonly here..

I just adore their bellies. They're so kind and cute.
