Frost Crystals

frost crystals, hoar frost

frost crystals, radiation frost

Yesterday's frost formed needle-like crystals up to 3mm. Hopefully it won't be the last hoarfrost of the winter because I'm hoping to get a better shot.

Have you got any tips on taking close ups of frost, ice or snow?

Too bad you couldn't get a bit closer and have a bit clearer photo. My camera doesn't always work as well as I would like with macro shots either. I've been reading the PhotoMojo (I think I am remembering the name right) to pick up some more ideas for getting better photos with the digi camera I've got. They have a book out too but the cost of getting it shipped to Canada is a bit steep.

So soft, clean and refreshing, these are gorgeous shots

I really like the almost feathery look that the frost has from being on those plants.

Yummy! I love the crystals, but I don't see them very often.

I never seen ice texture this close before. Very exotic indeed!
