Storr's Cave has two prominent entrances close to the road east of Ingleton. A large passage joins the two with smaller passages leading off. A low passage to the south descends to a dried up streamway. A narrow passage leads north, waiting to be explored another day ;-)
A hidden third entrance used to be an easy climb to a dry chamber full of small bones. However, the entrance has been enlarged and the chamber strewn with clay and debris from a new passage that's being excavated. I can't help wondering who's digging and what they've discovered :-)

WOw... they are just open and people can go in and explore?
Giant mice? I'm afraid serious caving doesn't much appeal to me; although I'll happily make the odd excursion underground. Generally, I'd rather be out in the open air.
The ancient dwarfs...err, maybe. They are the only people who are so crazy about digging and caving.

It has been a long, long time since I last ventured into a cave. Not sure if I would be so keen nowadays...the joys of getting older, but I guess my curiosity might just force me in for a wander around...
Hmm, looks very mysterious. I would be scared even to make a few steps into it, though I'm curious by nature.

I don't fare too well in caves. I once went into a bear cave (guided tour) pregnant, of all things. I almost got stuck coming out. Talk about claustophobia! Never went into a cave again!!!

Out of the blue
IS the area protected? Been to one cave here near our place but it houses 4 Million fruit-eating bats. It's somehow amazing to see. I wonder what is inside the caves here in the photos.
I'm bouncing between wanting to dive in and explore or run screaming but I'm bipolar so that makes sense.
I'd be happy to camp out there if I knew it was safe, dry and relatively bat-free but I'm not sure I'd go near it without that knowledge!
I'm attracted to the caves in an unusual way. They seem mysterious and exciting, a little bit scary and a secure shelter at the same time. Go figure...
