Northern Marsh Orchid

Found in an abandoned quarry along the path of Hadrian's Wall. :-)

I wonder why it's called a Northern Marsh Orchid - I found one in Cornwall recently.

It took me a long time to find out that plants like these had flowers. The first time I ever found one, the flowers were all gone. I had no idea what I was looking at. It was fun finding out later.
