Oak Leaves
Something I enjoy about photography is how it makes me pay attention to the colours and shapes around me. Otherwise I'd never have noticed how red the oak leaves are at this time of year :-)

Lightening Strike in Boston
This has to be my lucky shot of the year! The photo was taken at exactly the right moment to catch a lightening strike and was featured in the local paper :-)
Buttercup Meadow
It's scenes like this meadow in Gloucestershire that make the buttercup one of my favourite wild flowers :-)

Mute Swan
I often forget the settings on my new camera. The Samsung always reverted to default while the Olympus stores the most recently used. Usually I take several pictures with weird lighting before I realise! :-)

Storm Clouds over Lincolnshire
After a fantastic weekend the storm clouds began to gather on Sunday evening. Here's the view to the west from Boston.

Shells on Barry Island
When we visit the beach I head straight to where the tide has left the stones and shells to look for anything interesting. If I'm lucky I'll find a few fossils to add to my collection. Unfortunately I didn't find much on Barry Island. The only fossils were embedded in huge rocks :-(

Bumble Bee
When I visited Prinknash Abbey last week the grounds were alive with bees going about their business. Unfortunately I can't identify this one. Any ideas? :-)

Gloucestershire: Prinknash Abbey
Prinknash Abbey is a Benedictine monastery near the village of Cranham in Gloucestershire. The abbey was build in 1520 only to be disbanded by Henry VIII 19 years later. In 1928 the abbey was given to the Benedictine monks of Caldey Island and returned to it's original use :-)
Sgwd Isaf Clun-Gwyn
For the last few days I've been camping in south Wales and couldn't resist visiting a few waterfalls. Sgwd Isaf Clun-Gwyn (White Meadow Lower Waterfall) is hidden where Afon Mellte (The Lightening River) flows through a gorge.
