Winnats Pass

Winnats Pass

Winnats Pass is a route down to Castleton between towering limestone cliffs. According to legend the gorge is haunted on stormy nights by two young lovers who eloped in 1758. Henry and Clara were murdered my lead miners as they travelled to Peak Forest to be married. :-(

This is one road where I WOULD NOT want to breakdown.

I love ghost stories (she says, having never been visited by one), and this looks like the perfect setting for one. Very spooky...even without the history!
