Every time I visit Louth I'm on the look out for strange signs. Here's one I spotted recently in the market hall:
“... Turn left at the baker's then right at the curry house... actually, there are lots of curry houses... anyway, on the left they've knocked down a house to create an alley. Go down there ...”
The signs are created by the artist Rupert Clamp who pretended to be lost. He asked for directions and created signs from the directions he was given. So far I've manage to find 5:
- Market Hall: Turn Left At The Baker's
- Jackpot Pottery: You Can Cut Through Here
- Vickers Lane: Go Onto The Main Street
- Eastgate Car Park: Basically, Carry on Round Here
- Burnt Hill Lane: Actually It's Just Up There

If you were already lost and wandering around that sign would only make you feel more lost.
I have seen funny signs too. I think they should ask someone to correct it before posting to the wall.

I wish they would make signs like this where I live. This one made me smile as soon as I read it.
LOL that's like a direction you would get of someone you would ask in the street...heheh!
Have a great weekend :-)
That's pretty funny. I've received quite a few sets of directions like these, for real. Good humor value, not so much for getting there.
What fun!
Congrats on the new blog!
Best wishes,
Anna
But I'll miss your avatar for the English Wilderness. It is so pretty. I'd put it on my blog and give you a link for free!

I love the fact that he took directions that were given to him & turned them into art! There's a strangeness there that makes me smile as I have been given directions similar to this more than once. ;)
Have you tried following the directions to find out where he asked directions to? That's what I wanna know! :D
