The Lighthouse on Caldey Island

The Lighthouse on Caldey Island

The lighthouse stand at the south of Caldey Island and was first lit in 1829. The tower is 17m high and the light can be seen 15 miles away.

There is something about a lighthouse which makes me sit up straight and pay attention! Wghen I was a kid, I had dreams of being a lighthouse keeper (which is slightly unusual for a girl growing up in the centre of England, miles and miles from the sea!)
